For the fourth season of Magnolia Baroque Festival, June 16 – 20, 2010, look for the return of violinist Ingrid Mathews in solo and ensemble performances, as well as exciting performers such as lutist John Lenti, keyboardist Andrew Willis and Baroque dancers Thomas Baird and Paige Whitley-Bauguess.

Some of the highlights of the fourth season include performances, a live radio broadcast and an exhibit of the music of Johann Friedrich Peter, America’s first significant composer of chamber music who lived in Salem at the end of the 18th century.  These featured events are made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts’ American Masterpieces program, and in collaboration with Old Salem and the Moravian Music Foundation.

The mission of Magnolia Baroque Festival is to highlight the historical significance of early Salem to classic music in America by presenting world-class performances of Baroque and Classical music by premiere early music instrumentalists, dancers and singers.  Join us in Winston-Salem for five magical days of the very best in Baroque music at the Magnolia Baroque Festival!
